Planning and booking a holiday can be hard work, but if you’re thinking about surprising your other half with a holiday, then you have to work even harder, because your plans must remain a secret in order for the holiday to stay a surprise. So if you’re desperately trying to keep your travel plans hidden from your partner’s prying eyes, here are a few tips on how to keep your plans as secret as possible, without arousing suspicions.

Tell No One (Or Very Few)

It goes without saying that the fewer people that know about your travel plans, the better, because then there will be less people to give you away. If you must tell someone, tell someone you trust, and you may find that having somebody helping you out could be very helpful in distracting your partner.

Choose the Perfect Destination

There may be somewhere that your partner longs to travel to, and the chances are that they have already mentioned it to you. If this is the case, then talk to them about the destination, have a conversation about a hypothetical trip there, and ask them which cities they’d like to travel to, and what sights they’d want to see. If they’ve never spoken about their dream holiday destination, have a similar conversation with them, tell them about where you’d love to travel to, and see what places they suggest.

Hide All the Evidence

You don’t want to undo all the hard work you’ve done by leaving out important travel documents or leaving booking emails open, so make sure that you carefully file away all the holiday documents and use your work computer to book the holiday. After all, you don’t want your partner to find out about your plans by realising you’ve been searching for online deals such as all-inclusive holidays in Cyprus on your home computer, do you?
